Right now, stop what you are doing and get your Bible; go directly to Galatians 6: 9 and read it more than once, and you will see that each time you read it, the feeling is stronger. And it goes like this: “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Galatians 6: 9 KJV

I have lost count of how many times I have read it. And what strikes me the most is, “let us not grow weary.” These are five words that we need to repeat constantly today, and why? If you look around at everything that is happening in our world, you see that many are getting tired and losing hope. We live in a very dark time where the world seems to have control over many people’s lives. That is why we should not get tired and continue harvesting. Sometimes that harvest will be damaged, but don’t be afraid to keep trying again and again. God has a plan with you, you have something that no one else has, and our Lord knows that you can do wonderful things and change someone’s life. Your testimony can be the one that helps someone find hope, faith, peace, and support.

A year ago, my family and I arrived in this town due to nature’s causes, a Hurricane. A lot of uncertainty, anguish, and concern about what was going to happen. And what we never imagined was that while some Friends did good in giving us shelter and support, God was working in us. Today, we are a testimony that situations often do not occur by coincidence; they are sometimes part of a plan from God, who is greater. I share this with you because this weeks’ promise reminds me greatly of what we went through a year ago.

Go to Galatians 6:10, “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” (KJV). Do not give up on doing good during all the darkness we live through today and the uncertainty of what will happen. In the end, we will see the light and hope. As our guest speaker, this past weekend said, “So, wake up, get up, and you’ll have something to do.” (Steve Williams)
